‌F22 is a high-performance low-alloy steel with high strength and hardness, suitable for the oil, gas and chemical industries‌‌.
The chemical composition of F22 includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and iron (Fe), of which the chromium content is about 2.25%. ‌ These ingredients give F22 good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.

Silicon (Si): 0.50% maximum
Manganese (Mn): 0.30% - 0.60%

F22 is a low alloy steel with the UNS number K21590, containing approximately 2.25% chromium. This material is widely used in the oil and gas industry and other applications requiring high hardness and corrosion resistance due to its excellent strength and hardness characteristics.

The physical properties of F22 include:

V. Heat treatment process
F22 materials usually undergo the following heat treatment processes:

· Normalizing: holding temperature 900 ~ 980 ℃, holding time 5 ~ 7 hours, so that the material is austenitized inside, and water-cooled to below 150 ℃ on the surface after being taken out of the furnace.

· Quenching: holding temperature 900 ~ 970 ℃, holding time 5 ~ 7 hours, water-cooled to below 80 ℃ on the surface after being taken out of the furnace.

· Tempering: holding temperature 700-740℃, holding time 5.5-8 hours, air cooling to room temperature after leaving the furnace.

These heat treatment processes can be adjusted according to specific application requirements to obtain the best material properties.

The mechanical properties of F22 depend on its heat treatment process, usually normalized, quenched and tempered to achieve different strength levels:

‌Hardness 75 KSI‌: Tensile strength minimum 95 KSI (655 N/mm²), 0.2% yield strength minimum 75 KSI (517 N/mm²), elongation 18%, section reduction rate 35%
‌Hardness 105 KSI‌: Tensile strength minimum 125 KSI (862 N/mm²), 0.2% yield strength minimum 105 KSI (724 N/mm²), elongation 15%, cross-sectional shrinkage 30% ‌
