410 stainless steel properties
Type 410 SS is a hardenable, martensitic stainless steel. It combines the superior wear resistance of high carbon alloys with the excellent corrosion resistance of chromium stainless. It features high strength, heat resistance, and good ductility. Good corrosion resistance in mild atmospheres, steam and mild chemical environments make it well suited for highly stressed parts. This grade of 410 stainless steel is magnetic in both the annealed and hardened conditions.
Our 410 stainless steel materials are used in aerospace, automotive, petrochemical and medical applications. Grade 410 SS is also used in manufacturing of products like springs and fasteners, as it can be machined after tempering or annealing. For free machining applications that do not require the higher corrosion resistance of 410, consider our grade of 416 stainless instead.

The main uses of 410 stainless steel include the following aspects:
Blade tools: 410 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance and machinability, and is often used to make blade tools such as knives and scalpels.
Mechanical parts: Due to its high strength and excellent machinability, 410 stainless steel is suitable for making various mechanical parts, such as bolts, pump shafts, pallet valves, etc.
Kitchen utensils: 410 stainless steel is also commonly used to make kitchen utensils, such as tableware (spoons, forks, knives, etc.), and is popular for its corrosion resistance and easy cleaning.
Hand tools and other miscellaneous items: In addition, 410 stainless steel is also used to make hand tools and other miscellaneous items, such as springs, flat springs, etc.
Physical and chemical properties of 410 stainless steel:
Composition: 410 stainless steel contains about 13% chromium and has a certain corrosion resistance.
Processability: 410 stainless steel has good machinability and is suitable for cold rolling and hot rolling. Common surface treatment states include NO.1, 1D, 2D, 2B, N0.4, HL, BA, Mirror, etc. Heat treatment: 410 stainless steel can be hardened by heat treatment and is suitable for annealing, hardening, quenching, tempering and stress relief. These characteristics make 410 stainless steel plates widely used in many fields.
