inconel718 advantages
Inconel718 alloy has the following advantages:
High temperature performance: Inconel718 alloy performs well at high temperatures and has excellent high temperature strength and oxidation resistance. At 700℃, its strength and toughness are still high, and it can maintain stable mechanical properties in high temperature environments.
Mechanical properties: The alloy has high strength, high toughness and good fatigue resistance. Under various stress conditions, Inconel718 alloy can withstand high loads and high stresses to meet the needs of complex engineering structures.
Corrosion resistance: Inconel718 alloy has good resistance to a variety of corrosive media, including oxidation, reduction, sulfidation, carburization and other environments. In addition, it also has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking and can remain stable in harsh environments.
Processing performance: Inconel718 alloy is easy to process and is suitable for casting, forging, welding and other processes. Its work hardening rate is high, so proper heat treatment and annealing are required during processing.
Wide range of applications: Inconel718 alloy is widely used in aviation, aerospace, petroleum, chemical industry and other fields. In the aviation field, it is used to manufacture turbine engine blades, turbine discs, combustion chambers and other components; in the aerospace field, it is used to manufacture rocket engine combustion chambers, turbo pumps and other key components; in the petroleum and chemical fields, it is used to manufacture reactors, heat exchangers and other components under high temperature, high pressure and strong corrosion environments.
Chemical composition and microstructure of Inconel718 alloy:
The main chemical components of Inconel718 alloy include nickel (50%-55%), chromium (17%-21%), iron (15%-20%), niobium (4.75%-5.5%), molybdenum (2.8%-3.3%), titanium (0.65%-1.15%) and a small amount of aluminum, carbon, manganese, silicon and other elements. The precise ratio of these elements enables it to perform well in high temperature and harsh environments. In terms of microstructure, Inconel 718 alloy is mainly composed of γ (austenite) matrix and precipitated phases such as γ', γ'' and δ phases. These precipitated phases play a strengthening role in the alloy, giving it higher strength and hardness.
