High strength and non-magnetic nickel copper alloy Monel k500 bright rod UNS N05500 alloy sheet and rod.
Introduction to Monel K500 Alloy
Monel K500 is a nickel copper alloy with excellent mechanical properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and non-magnetic properties.
Monel K500 alloy is mainly composed of 67% nickel, 20% copper, and approximately 10% other elements such as iron, manganese, and carbon. This unique chemical composition endows Monel K500 with excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good processability. Compared with other nickel copper alloys, Monel K500 has superior performance, especially in terms of tensile strength and yield strength. Its tensile strength is twice that of K400 alloy, and its yield strength is three times that of 400 alloy. This high strength can be maintained up to 649 ℃, and when the temperature drops to -240 ℃, the material still has ductility and toughness.
Monel K500 alloy has a wide range of applications, mainly used for manufacturing turbine blades and gas turbine blades with working temperatures below 750 ℃ in aviation engines, fasteners and springs in ships, pump and valve components in chemical equipment, and scraper blades in papermaking equipment.
We can provide bright bars, forged forgings, pipes, thin plates, strips, plates, round bars, flat steel, forged blanks, hexagonal and wire rods, etc.
Monelk500 chemical composition:
The chemical composition of Monel K500 alloy mainly includes elements such as nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), aluminum (Al), titanium (Ti), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), carbon (C), silicon (Si), sulfur (S), etc.
Ni | Cu | Al | Ti | Fe |
63.0% to 70.0% | 27.0% to 33.0% | 2.30% to 3.15% | 0.35% to 0.85% | The maximum content is 2.0% |
The content range of nickel (Ni) is 63.0% to 70.0%, which is the main component of the alloy and endows it with excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature stability.
The content range of copper (Cu) is 27.0% to 33.0%. The addition of copper improves the corrosion resistance of the alloy and enhances the strength and toughness of the material.
The content range of aluminum (Al) and titanium (Ti) is 2.30% to 3.15% and 0.35% to 0.85%, respectively. Aluminum forms precipitation hardening phases with nickel and titanium, giving the alloy high hardness and strength.
The maximum content of iron (Fe) is 2.0%, and the iron content is relatively low to avoid reducing the corrosion resistance of the alloy.
The content of elements such as manganese (Mn), carbon (C), silicon (Si), and sulfur (S) is also strictly regulated to ensure the performance and stability of the alloy.
Monel K500 alloy exhibits excellent performance in high temperature and corrosive environments due to its unique chemical composition and physical properties, especially in chloride and seawater environments, where its corrosion resistance is superior to most other alloy materials.
In addition, the alloy can maintain high mechanical strength under high temperature conditions, making it suitable for structural components under high temperature conditions
Monel K500 alloy has a wide range of applications, mainly used in the following areas:
In the aviation field, Monel K500 is used to manufacture key components of aircraft engines, such as pump shafts and impellers, as well as structural components of airplanes. Its excellent corrosion resistance and high strength ensure safe and stable flight performance.
